DESCRIPTION:
The Director Website Technology leads the technological development of the fuse.tv website and other interactive digital products. Designs, builds, tests, releases, and supports web sites and applications, in both hands-on and managerial capacities. Analyzes projects and partners with project stakeholders to determine technological and production alternatives and solutions. Participates in the creation of project plans, resource allocation and estimated timelines. Develops and directs a team of both staff and external vendors. Creates technology roadmaps for individual projects and overall website development. Coordinates development plans and launches with eMedia infrastructure team. Tracks and studies new developments in the digital media industry to analyze and choose appropriate technologies, partners and vendors. Monitors and optimizes website performance. Promotes and explains technological developments and recommendations to senior staff. Consults on mobile and video-on-demand delivery projects. Participates in special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least six years experience developing large-scale, interactive, content-centered websites. Must have at least three years of management experience with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule and at high quality. Will have a complete understanding of the best web development practices. Must be able to objectively analyze project requirements and choose appropriate technological solutions. Must have the ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies and develop new solutions. Will possess problem-solving and decision-making skills. Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to build consensus within diverse cross-departmental groups and outside vendors. Must be detail oriented, extremely organized and possess excellent communication and analytical skills. Will have the ability to multi-task and prioritize under a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment. Will be proficient in computer and web technologies with comprehensive knowledge of, but not limited to, XML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, JSP, PHP, Flash, Oracle and Microsoft Office. Experience integrating third-party applications such as DART, Omniture and Brightcove is a plus. Understanding of mobile and television technologies is preferred. Must have flexibility and availability to work evenings and weekends.
